PMC Classes

PMC Winter Wonderland Charm Bracelet - All levels
Learn the basics of precious metal silver clay to create sparkling charms and hollow beads to embellish a charm bracelet. Add beautiful textures to silver charms and then burnish after firing to reveal sparkling silver highlights. Handmade beads are built around forms to make one of a kind snowy winter beads. The finished bracelet is perfect project for holiday gift giving or to wear to a festive winter party.
ITS Jewelry - All levels PMC
Learn basics of PMC silver and how to create simple pendants or bracelet plaques to which images will be applied. After firing and finishing your pieces, a special transfer solution and paper allow you to transfer color or black and white laser images to the surface of the metal. The finished pieces are durable and have a timeless, soft, ethereal look. Choose images with strong lines and contrast for best results.
Silver Clay Charms with Sparkling Gems - All levels PMC
Make one of a kind fine silver charms using Precious Metal Clay (PMC). Charms are made by sculpting, stamping and texturing the clay. Learn how to set stones and fire in place. Finished pieces are fired in a kiln to burn away the clay binder, leaving a finished product that is pure silver. Students will learn to refine and finish the silver metal charms. Finished charms can be used for: charm bracelets, necklaces, buttons, etc. These charms make excellent gifts for the holidays. For an additional charge ranging from $10-$15, Sherri will bring necklace and bracelet chains for your finished projects. You may also bring your own chain to add the charms to. Finishing techniques will be demonstrated.
PMC Rings - Advanced PMC class
Make handcrafted silver precious metal clay rings that are custom fit for you or a special someone. Choose from a variety of textures to add to your ring band, and set a stone in the ring for sparkle if you desire. Learn how to build rings using a mandrel and how to make them the right size after firing. Level: intermediate to advanced, prior metal clay experience is necessary.
PMC Resin Mixed Media Bracelet - Intermediate level
Learn to make simple silver metal clay charms and bead forms. After the metal clay is fired and finished, students will go on to make beautiful mixed media jewelry pieces. Techniques include using resin, glitter and collage elements to add color and sparkle to your finished metal clay charms and beads. Finished pieces can then be used in a variety of ways. Make a "sampler bracelet" of mixed media charms or choose a favorite technique perfect for a pendant or pair of earrings. This class will inspire you to look at simple craft materials in a whole new way when paired up with precious silver to create designer style jewelry.
Resin Filled PMC Charms
Carve your own original designs into rubber carving material to make press molds for PMC silver bezels. The molds can be used to produce multiple silver charms with raised edges that will allow you to fill the design with colorful opaque or transparent resin. The basics of metal clay will be covered in this class. After firing and finishing the silver, you will learn how to properly mix and cure resin to fill your creations with. Make earrings, a pendant or charms with your finished pieces.
 

Resin Classes  

Casting Resin for Jewelry
Learn to cast resin jewelry by creating your own models and molds! This class takes the mystery out of the different formulations of resin available for casting and how to use each type. Discover how to use found objects such as antique pieces or hand sculpted objects that can be used as models to create molds for casting. Silicone mold making with various products will be demonstrated. A hand sculpted bangle, beads and other cast jewelry pieces will be shown from making the model to completed piece of jewelry. Finishing techniques will also be covered in this extensive lecture class.
Resin Filled Bezels
Explore the art of resin jewelry; learn how to use resin using a variety of techniques to fill jewelry bezels. Layer images, collage elements and small objects in clear resin to create keepsake charms for a bracelet or pendant, or mix colorful pigment powders and dyes with the resin for a colorful enamel effect.
 

Macramé Classes  

Macramé Mermaid Necklace - All levels
Learn to tie basic macramé knots to complete a delicate necklace inspired by the sea. Special attention is paid to the finishing techniques taught in this class to provide a professionally designed piece. Choose from the following colors for you kit: Light blue/gray, Sea green/blue or Brown/Beige. If you are speedy in class, you can also make a matching bracelet with the same knots that were used to create the necklace.
Macramé Rings - Colorful and Bold - All levels
Learn the basics of macramé to make a fashionable ring. Choose a cabochon for the focal point to surround with coordinating cord to form the bezel and ring band. The ring is custom made to fit your finger and is very comfortable to wear. People will stop you on the street and ask you where you got the ring, so be prepared to show off your handiwork.
Pearls and Crystal Macramé Bracelet - All levels
Learn basic macramé knots to make a sophisticated gallery style bracelet. Working with fine materials will change the way you look at macramé in the future. The bracelet features silk cord with coordinating pearls and crystals.
